The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) commenced the CLAT 2025 registration process on July 15, 2025. Aspiring candidates have until October 15, 2024, to submit their CLAT 2025 application forms, available on the official website at https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in/. As per the CLAT 2025 exam notification, applicants must ensure timely payment of the application fees. On September 13, 2024, the Consortium also released sample questions to aid in exam preparation.

The CLAT 2025 exam is scheduled for December 1, 2024, and will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at over 133 exam centers nationwide. The exam will feature 120 objective-type questions, adhering to the established CLAT exam pattern. The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a centralized, national-level entrance exam conducted annually for admission into undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs offered by 24 National Law Universities (NLUs) and other affiliated law schools in India. Admit Card Release: Third week of November 2024
CLAT 2025 Exam Date: 1st December 2024
Result Declaration: January 2025

3. Eligibility Criteria for CLAT 2025

For Undergraduate (UG) Programs:

Education: Candidates must have passed the 12th standard or equivalent with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates).
Age Limit: There is no age limit for appearing in CLAT 2025.
Final Year Students: Candidates appearing for their 12th standard exams in 2025 are also eligible to apply, provided they can furnish proof of passing during the admission process.

For Postgraduate (PG) Programs:

Education: Applicants must hold an LLB degree or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates).
Age Limit: No upper age limit exists for postgraduate applicants as well.

4. CLAT 2025 Syllabus

Undergraduate (UG) Syllabus:

The UG CLAT paper is divided into the following sections:

English Language: Comprehension passages, grammar, and vocabulary.
Current Affairs & General Knowledge: Includes recent events, history, geography, and static GK.
Legal Reasoning: Principles of law and their application to various fact situations.

The UG CLAT exam will consist of around 120-150 questions with negative marking (0.25 marks per wrong answer).
