SBI PO 2023 Exam consist of the Mains round after the Prelims stage. Candidates can appear this round only if they will crack the first round.
This test is going to be an objective type and for each wrong answer, it will deduct 1/4 marks given to the question. The wrong answer can act as a penalty.

SBI PO 2023 Interview and Group Discussion
To qualify for the interview phase in the SBI PO 2023 selection process, a candidate must successfully navigate both the preceding stages. In this particular entrance examination, candidates will have the opportunity to participate in a high-quality Group Discussion (GD) round, where they are expected to demonstrate their knowledge before a panel of experts. The discussion may encompass topics related to the candidate’s prior experiences, fundamental inquiries, and their awareness of the banking sector.
SBI PO 2023 Selection Process
To get the final selection for SBI PO 2023, candidates will have to pass all the stages. The SBI PO Selection process consists of 3 stages which are given below:

- Mains
- Psychometric Test
- Interview
Stage 1: SBI PO Prelims
- The SBI PO Prelims Exam serves as the initial screening round for candidates to assess their general aptitude.
- The SBI PO Prelims Exam is conducted as an online objective test and has a duration of 1 hour.
- This examination comprises three sections: English Language, Reasoning Ability, and Quantitative Aptitude.
- In the SBI PO Prelims Exam, there won’t be any sectional cut-off marks. However, the bank will establish an overall cut-off based on the candidates’ categories.
- From the top of the merit list, candidates numbering approximately ten times the number of vacancies in each category will be shortlisted for the Main Examination.
Stage 2: SBI PO Mains
- Candidates who successfully clear the SBI PO Preliminary Examination become eligible to participate in the SBI PO Mains Exam.
- The SBI PO Mains Exam consists of both an Objective Test and a Descriptive Test.
- The Objective Test in the SBI PO Mains Exam encompasses four sections: English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning & Computers, and General/Economy/Banking Awareness.
- The Descriptive Test carries a weightage of 50 marks and is conducted immediately after the Objective Test.
- Merit lists will be compiled for each category based on the total marks obtained in the Main Examination, without any sectional cut-offs.
Candidates numbering up to 3 times (approx.) of the category-wise vacancies will be shortlisted for the Group Exercise & Interview from the top of the category-wise merit list subject to a candidate scoring the minimum aggregate qualifying score
Stage 3: SBI PO Group Exercises & Interview
Psychometric Test- The Bank may conduct a Psychometric test for personality profiling, of those candidates who will be shortlisted for Phase III. The finding of the test may be placed before the Interview panel for having a thorough perspective on the candidates.
The final stage of the selection process unfolds here. Candidates who have successfully passed the SBI Mains Exam will receive invitations to participate in the Interview and Group Exercise. This phase carries paramount significance as it ultimately determines the candidate’s fate in the context of final selection. The combined scores from the SBI Mains and Interview serve as the decisive factor for a candidate’s appointment as an SBI PO.
